Fast forward one month later, Pierre achieved his heart’s desire – he was recently crowned Best Actor for his turn as the villainous Heilong in blockbuster drama The Journey: A Voyage, his first acting trophy in his 18-year acting career.
And the 40-year-old couldn’t be happier, judging from the way that he was grinning from ear to ear when we last spoke to him during the Star Awards 20 after-party. Or at least, we thought he couldn’t be.
The actor held a fan gathering on May 11 to thank his fans for their support over the years. Fans turned up with a wide assortment of presents for their idol, but one in particular managed to grab Pierre’s attention and heart – a clay figurine of Heilong holding a Star Awards trophy (which was scarily lifelike, right down to the mole under his right eye). Fans had specially commissioned the figurine from a friend who makes figurines as a hobby.
He was so pleased with the thoughtful gift that he took multiple pictures with the figurine, and even sent them to his manager afterwards.
